Competition Summary

This submission introduces a proposal for the accommodation of Atlantic College. 

It emphasises the importance and implications of spatial hierarchy by using a series of spaces, which range in scale from the intimate to the collective.  This series acts as a tool to promote social identity both within each dwelling and within the college campus as a whole. 

A dynamic floor plan extends throughout each of these scales to complement the busy lifestyle they are to support.  The proposal also stresses the responsibility for modern architecture to harmonise human desires with the demands of the natural environment through a rigorous and positive approach to sustainability.
